Glutathione - The Master Antioxidant

Glutathione is a small protein containing the amino acids glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, linked together in that order. It has been called the foundation of our antioxidant defense system due to its ability to regenerate vitamin C and vitamin E. Importantly, it is the substrate (or "fuel") for cellular antioxidant enzymes systems such as glutathione peroxidase which converts toxic hydrogen peroxide into harmless water and oxygen.

Glutathione is too large to be absorbed through the skin, however, the cellular production of glutathione can be increased by providing a stabilized form of the amino acid cysteine. Nutraplex2C™ contains a unique form of cysteine which is absorbed and used by the skin boost production of glutathione.
